In Vedanta, Maya is what appears to be, but is really not i.e an illusion. The root of Maya is the illusion that the individual ego is real. The 'mind' in this context means the tendencies (vritti) of the mind common to all human beings. Kabir laments that innumerable people have died without realizing the Truth, while the craving tendencies continue to live on.

By saying 'kah gaye' Kabir leaves a clue that he fully well knows that desires and craving will continue in future generations as well, and his message would serve as a warning to them (us).
